MIL-DTL-62548C(AT)
3.6.9.2 Ballistic shock. The ignition lead shall be capable of sustaining impact shock
waves generated by the application of 200±20 g half-sine wave shock pulses in any direction
without malfunction (see 4.2.7.11.2).
3.6.9.3 Basic shock. The ignition lead shall be capable of sustaining half-sine wave
shock pulses of 40 g intensity for a 18 ms duration in any direction without malfunction
(see 4.2.7.11.3).
3.6.10 Submergence. The ignition lead shall be fully operational after submergence in
6 feet (ft) of water for a period of 30 minutes (see 4.2.7.12).
4. VERIFICATION
4.1 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are
classified as follows:
a. First article inspection (see 4.1.1).
b. Conformance inspections (CI) (see 4.1.2).
4.1.1 First article inspection. First article inspection shall be performed on 3 samples of
the initial production ready production-representative units of an order or when required by the
contract. When first article inspection is required (see 3.1, 6.2 and 6.3), it includes all
verifications listed in table I.
4.1.2 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall include the examinations
and tests specified in table I.
4.1.2.1 Sampling plan. The sampling plan shall be as specified in the contract or order
(see 6.2).
4.1.2.2 Examination. The samples selected in accordance with 4.1.2.1 shall be examined
as specified in table I. The acceptance number in all cases is zero.
4.1.2.3 Tests (100% inspection). Each ignition lead shall be subjected to and pass the
acceptance tests specified in table I.
4.2 Verification methods. Acceptable verification methods included in this section are
visual inspection, measurements, sample tests, full-scale demonstration tests, simulation,
modeling, engineering evaluation, component properties analysis, and similarity to previously-
approved or previously-qualified designs.
4.2.1 Verification alternatives. The manufacturer may propose alternative test methods,
techniques, or equipment, including the application of statistical process control, tool control, or
