All subsequent cable assemblies delivered to the Government shall conform to these samples in
all of their pertinent physical and performance attributes.
3.2 Materials. Materials shall be as specified herein, and in applicable specifications.
Materials not specifically designated shall be suitable for use in the cable assemblies, plugs,
receptacles and adapters provided that their use does not cause any change in physical, electrical
or dimensional properties that would result in performance of any of these components falling
outside of the limits specified herein (see 4.7.1).
3.2.1 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled,
recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent
possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance
requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs.
3.3 Design and construction. Cable assemblies, plugs and receptacles shall be designed
and constructed in accordance with the manufacturer s standards. Cable assemblies, plugs,
receptacles and adapters shall conform to the envelope dimensions and the electrical and
