hours). During the latter 1/2 hour of each 2 hour period of vibration, the blower shall be operated
continuously at full load speed. Full load speed shall be obtained by adjustment of the line
voltage to 28.5 V.
4.4.7.4 Shock. To determine conformance to 3.6.4, the blower shall be subjected to a
sawtooth waveform shock pulse with a 30 g peak value and a duration of 11 ms. The waveform
shall conform to figure 1. The velocity change (Vi) shall be 1.62 m/sec. After having been
subjected to and passing the test specified in 4.4.4.2, the blower shall be disassembled and
examined to determine conformance to 3.6.1 through 3.6.4.
4.4.7.5 Sand and dust. To determine conformance to 3.6.5, the blower shall be subjected
to and pass the test as specified in method 110A of MIL-STD-202 except that chamber air speed
shall be 762 + 152 m/min.
4.4.7.6 Corrosion resistance. To determine conformance to 3.6.6, the blower shall be
tested and pass the test in accordance with the salt spray test as specified in ASTM B117, except
that the length of the test shall be 200 hours. After the corrosion test, the blower shall be
operated for 1 hour at 27 V before being subjected to and passing the test specified in 4.4.4.2.
4.4.7.7 Fungus resistance. To determine conformance to 3.6.7, the blower shall be tested
in accordance with MIL-STD-810 Test Method 508.6 except that the test period shall be a
continuous 90 days. The blower shall be removed from the test cabinet without disassembly and
without disturbing any fungus growths that have developed. Upon completion of the
examination and replacement of access port covers, the blower shall be operated for 1 hour at 27
V before being subjected to and passing the test specified in 4.4.4.2.
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as
specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of materiel is to be
performed by DoD personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity
to ascertain requisite packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the
Inventory Control Point s packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency,
