MIL-DTL62062E
3.3.3 Dielectric strength. The blower shall withstand a voltage of 500 V root-mean-
square (rms) at 60 cycles per second (cps) for 1 minute. There shall be no puncture of solid
insulation, no continuing sparkover, no breakdown of dielectric material and no damage to the
insulation sufficient to cause failure of the motor (see 4.4.4.2).
3.4 Interface requirements. Each blower assembly shall accommodate the following
requirements.
3.4.1 Electromagnetic compatibility. The blower shall meet the requirements of
MIL-STD-461 limits CE102 and RE102-3 (see 4.4.5.1).
3.4.2 Painting. All exterior surfaces of the blower shall be painted except the electrical
connections and the mating surfaces at the blower end. Prior to painting, surfaces of the blower
shall be treated in accordance with 3.2.2.1 or 3.2.2.2 and then primed per MIL-DTL-53022 or
MIL-DTL-53030. The dry film thickness of the primer coat shall be not less than 1.0 to 1.5 mils.
After priming, the exterior surfaces shall be top coated with a coating conforming to
MIL-DTL-53039, MIL-DTL-64159. The dry film thickness of the topcoat shall be not less than
1.8 mils (see 4.4.5.2).
3.4.3 Interchangeability. Blowers shall have external dimensions that fall within the
envelope outline of Drawing 10898759. Electrical connectors, shafts and mounting dimensions
and their locations shall conform to the detail requirements of the drawing. Military standard
parts shall be used whenever possible (see 4.4.5.3).
3.5 Support and ownership requirements.
3.5.1 Identification marking.
3.5.1.1 Nameplate. Each blower shall have a nameplate affixed to the blower exterior as
specified on the drawing 10898759 (see 3.2) or, if not specified, in a conspicuous place. All
nameplates shall include the following information as a minimum (see 4.4.6.1):
a.
Blower, 28 V dc
b.
Military part number
c.
Federal stock number
Manufacturer s identification
d.
Manufacturer s serial number
e.
f.

3.5.2 Safety. The blower assembly shall pose no electric or physical hazards to
operating personnel from rotating parts, burrs or sharp edges, electrocution, etc (see 4.4.6.2).
3.6 Operating environment requirements. Each blower assembly shall operate under the
following environmental conditions, without degradation in performance.
